Labuan Bajo – Komodo – Labuan Bajo
CIELA Phinisi is a classic-style traditional Indonesian sailing vessel that offers a luxurious liveaboard experience in Komodo National Park. Built in 2019 with a length of 28 metres and a width of 5.2 metres, the vessel is made of ironwood and teak, and is equipped with Mitsubishi 6D22 engines and Japanese Yanmar Marine generators. CIELA can accommodate up to 15 guests in 4 air-conditioned cabins, all of which have private bathrooms. The cabins include Padar Room (queen bed + 2 extra beds, private balcony), Seraya Room (queen bed + 1 extra bed, private balcony), Sabolo Room (queen bed + 2 bunk beds), and Kanawa Room (4 bunk beds).
Onboard facilities include an indoor dining area, spacious sun deck, Bluetooth sound system, snorkelling equipment and a dinghy with a 40hp Yamaha engine. For safety, the boat is equipped with life jackets, life rafts and fire extinguishers. In addition, there is Wi-Fi, bean bags, paddle boards, and premium documentation using drones, GoPro, and mirrorless cameras.
CIELA offers various trip packages, including 2 days 1 night, 3 days 2 nights, and 4 days 3 nights. Itineraries include visits to popular destinations such as Kelor Island, Manjarite, Kalong Island, Padar Island, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Manta Point, Taka Makassar, Siaba, and Kanawa Island. During the trip, guests can enjoy activities such as trekking, snorkelling and sunset watching.
Private boat hire prices vary depending on the duration and number of guests. For example, for a 2-day 1-night trip, prices start from IDR 42,000,000 for 1-4 guests, to IDR 47,500,000 for 13-15 guests. The price includes accommodation on board, all meals during the trip, mineral water, coffee, tea, snorkelling equipment, life jackets, guide services, as well as return transport from the hotel or airport in Labuan Bajo. However, the cost does not include Komodo National Park entrance tickets, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and tips for the crew.
That morning, you are picked up from your hotel or the airport in Labuan Bajo and taken to the harbour to board the CIELA Phinisi, an elegant traditional wooden boat. After a warm welcome from the crew and a short briefing, the boat sets sail for Kelor Island. There, you can do some light trekking to the top of the hill to enjoy a panoramic view of the sea and the stunning hills.
The journey continues to Manjarite, a snorkelling spot with clear water and beautiful coral reefs. In the afternoon, the boat anchors around Kalong Island, where thousands of bats emerge from the mangroves at sunset, creating a stunning sight. Night falls, and you enjoy a delicious dinner on board before retiring to your cosy cabin.
Early in the morning, the boat sets sail for Padar Island. After trekking to the top, you’re treated to an iconic view of three bays with different water colours. Next, you visit Pink Beach, a unique pink sandy beach, an ideal place to relax and snorkel.
The journey continues to Komodo Island, the Komodo dragon’s original habitat. Accompanied by a ranger, you trek to see these giant lizards in the wild. In the afternoon, the boat heads to Gili Lawa, the perfect place to enjoy the sunset from the top of a hill or beach. The evening is spent with dinner and rest on board.
After breakfast, you visit Taka Makassar, a small sand island with crystal-clear water, ideal for snorkelling. Then, you head to Manta Point, where you have the opportunity to swim with majestic manta rays. The journey continues to Siaba Island, known for its rich coral reefs and diverse marine life. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay on board.
The last morning on board, you visit Kanawa Island, an ideal spot for one last snorkel or simply relaxing on the beach. After lunch on board, you return to Labuan Bajo. The crew escorts you back to your hotel or the airport, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure with CIELA Phinisi.
